FAQ's & AFTERCARE

 

TATTOO AFTERCARE STEPS:

      1. Remove bandage & wash area with soap and water. ( We recommend GOLD DIAL ANTIBACTERIAL)

      2. PAT dry with towel. . No luffas/wash cloths should be used.

      3. Once dry apply a very very small amount of healing ointment. (We recommend Aquaphor or tattoo salve). over use of ointment will cause the tattoo to suffocate.

      4. Repeat this step for first 3 days.

      5. After 3 days switch from ointment to a NON SCENTED WATER BASED LOTION (We recommend Aveeno or Cereve)

      6. Keep moisturizing your tattoo for at least 3 weeks to ensure the tattoo is healed. 

      7. Once healed moisturize the area as needed to ensure the tattoo a long life 🤘🏼

      8. If you have any questions/concerns during the healing process call the shop first!! Not your friends 😂

PIERCING AFTER CARE

 

STERILE SALINE SPRAY “wound wash” compare ingredients-(0.09% sodium chloride,purified water)

 

  • Thick paper towel (like bounty)or non woven gauze

  • WASH YOUR HANDS

  • DO NOT twist,rotate or move jewelry,

  • DO NOT pick scabs, they keep bacteria out

  • SOAK PIERCING ONCE DAILY 

Saturate paper towel in warm water then spray saline on to soaked paper towel or directly on to piercing without disturbing jewelry or scabs, gently soak your piercing (pierced area inside and out if applicable)with warm compress (soaked paper towel)hold for 2-5 min 1 time daily for 6-8 weeks

 

  •   DRY by gently patting area with clean, disposable paper products

  • Q-tips DO NOT START WITH q-tips they can be used after scabs are softened but never force a scab thats not ready to be removed!

 •OTHER TIPS•

  • IN SHOWER: showers are preferred over baths throughout healing avoid piercing when using any soaps,scrubs etc rinse thoroughly at the end of shower 

  • Make sure your clothing and bedding is new/changed each day throughout healing to reduce risk of infection

  • Wear comfortable, breathable clothing that protects but allows air flow day and night (cotton)
    • WHAT IS NORMAL? •

  • Scabbing - fluid (not pus) that will form scab/crust after showers or cleaning

  • swelling 

  • tenderness

  • bruising

  • dryness - itchiness (area may feel tight or "stuck" throughout healing, this is normal DO NOT force jewelry to move)You may apply warm water compress as needed for dryness or itchiness.

Even healed piercings, years later will close if jewelry is left out, so if you want to keep your piercing, keep jewelry in it!

-Do we do piercings?

      Yes we do

- Do we accept walk-ins for tattoos? ​​

     Depends on our artists on a day to day basis. Give us a call at 219-226-4949 to check though!! 

-Do we accept walk-ins on piercing?

All Piercings are walkin based!! Stop by any time Thurs-Mon from 1-8pm and get pierced. 

-What forms of payment do we accept?

     Cash, debit, most major credit cards as well as Apple Pay.

-What is the youngest age we tattoo?

     16 y/o is the youngest we will tattoo. 

-What is the youngest age we do for piercing?

      The youngest we do for lobe piercings is 6. Cartilage piercings is 10. Anyone under 18 cannot get any genital, dermal anchors, nipples and or tongue piercings. Anyone who is 16 or older may receive any general body piercing. (Nose, septum, navel, etc.)

-Do we do lip tattoos?

     No

-Do we do eyebrow tattoos?

     No

-How much does a tattoo from us cost?

      Shop minimum is $100 (30  minutes or less of tattoo time) Hourly rates between $150-$200 depending on artist

-How I set an appointment?

      Heading to the Booking & Scheduling tab, fill out your info and press submit 👍🏽

-Do tattoos hurt?

      Yes they do "hurt" but for a lot of people tattoos are a mental game. The better word instead of hurt is uncomfortable. 

-Which areas hurt the most?

       The most painful spots are usually joints and areas near a lot of nerve ending. 

-Which areas hurt the least?

      The least painful areas are where the "meatier" parts of our bodies. (Thighs, calves, biceps, forearm, etc.)

-Will tattoos cover scars?

      Yes tattoos will cover scars but not every design is going to work for every client. 

-What happens if my tattoo isn't healing correctly?

      If your tattoo isn't healing correctly first call or email the shop! When tattoos do not heal correctly a lot of clients has similar issues that can be fixed without needing to see a doctor. Before seeking any medical attention please notify us at the shop so we may assist in the situation.

-How long do tattoos take to heal?

     Tattoos generally take anywhere from 2-4 weeks to heal depending on the client. 

-Will my tattoo scab?

      Normally when our tattoos heal they do not scab if Sandierm or Dermsheild are used. 

-Which tattoos heal the best?

      Tattoos that heal the best are taken care of the best by the client above all else. We do everything possible to set our clients up with the best chance for a long lasting tattoo. It is up to them to take care of the rest. 

-Do we do UV tattoos?

      We have one artist who will do UV tattoos and or use UV ink in his tattoos. 

-What is the best after for piercings?

      We recommend using a saline solution 1-2 times a day for at least 4-6 weeks after getting your piercing done. Some clients will need more time for their piercing to heal depending on a lot of factors so if you are unsure if your piercing isn't healed we recommend you reach out to the shop but do not stop using the saline solution until the piercing is done healing.
